People along the East Coast reported seeing a bright fireball in the skies on Monday evening at about 6:35 p.m.
The American Meteor Society says it received more than 330 reports.
The fireball was seen from Montreal, Canada to Maryland and Delaware.
Peter Czech captured video of the fireball on a dashcam as he drove near I-287 and the Route 10 interchange.
One person in New Hampshire reported seeing flames.
A person in Sicklerville, New Jersey reported that they were driving in their car and were not sure if it was a fireball or a spent firework because of what they saw.

Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal casino is closing its money-losing poker room for a makeover and plans to re-open it by summer. Trump Entertainment Resorts CEO Robert Griffin said the room has become unprofitable for the casino, which is struggling to emerge from bankruptcy.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says broken rails in Babylon and Great Neck have been repaired on the Long Island Rail Road. There are now scattered delays of up to 20 minutes on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches. Crews continue to repair a broken rail near Westbury. Hourly service continues on the Port Jefferson branch. Delays were up to 30 minutes early on Friday when five rails were broken.

An autopsy has ruled the death of "60 Minutes" correspondent Bob Simon to be an accident. The New York City medical examiner says Friday that Simon died from blunt-force injuries to his head, torso and extremities and had fractures. Police say Simon was not wearing a seatbelt Wednesday night when the car he was riding in collided with another vehicle on the West Side Highway in Manhattan. The law does not require livery car passengers to wear seatbelts.
