Growing up wasn't easy for Jazzy Kirkley. He didn't have a mom or dad and he was raised by another family. "I grew up on a farm in the country," Kirkley said. "My mom and dad left me with a white family. That family raised me as a kid." Today, family is everything to Kirkley. But his favorite thing to do? Throw some punches.

Imagine you're a kid and you're given a chance to design a dream playground. What would you include? Kids at the Stowe YMCA in Belmont had the opportunity to answer that question on Tuesday and their ideas could come to life.

MetLife is partnering with the national non-profit KaBOOM! to build a new playground for the Stowe Family YMCA. Children were able to draw their dream playground and elements from their designs will be incorporated into the final project.

"As long as you are having a good time and playing with your friends and family, that will be a good playground," Isaac McGann, a YMCA member, said.

The ideas from the kids varied from tire swings to ball pits to even penguins.

"We hope to have slides, swings, ropes, climbing walls and things to climb on," Theresa Foust, assistant vice president of MetLife, said. "Penguins might be a little bit out of our bailiwick."

The playground is the 22nd built by the MetLife Foundation and KaBOOM!. It will be constructed on October 4 by MetLife and YMCA volunteers.

Report: health risks at some nail salons

    Monday, September 15 2014 10:28 PM EDT2014-09-16 02:28:27 GMT
One of the most surprising findings in a report from the New York City public advocate is that city officials have virtually no authority over how nail salons are run. The city can't enforce standards like they do with restaurants, so it's clearly a case of beauty buyer beware. We get our nails done without thinking too much about it.
