SNELLVILLE, Ga. -

Gwinnett County Police are investigating a shooting that injured one man around midnight.

It happened on the 2900 block of Trotters Pointe Drive in Snellville. Authorities say a woman called authorities and reported her fiancé had been shot in the back during a drive-by shooting. He was asleep at the time.

Police say it appears several people were involved in the shooting. At this time, officers think the suspects got out of a truck before they began shooting at the home.

Authorities describe the vehicle as a dark-colored four-door style pickup truck, possibly black or maroon.

Police think the victim was an unintended target but they do not think the crime was random.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was transported to Georgia Medical Center: Lawrenceville and is expected to survive.
