Boston Man Arrested After Jumping Into Shark Tank

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON, MA- A man in Boston is under arrest after he took a dip in a shark tank at the city's aquarium.

51-year-old Stephen Pellegrine was arraigned Friday after reportedly jumping into the giant ocean tank Thursday night.

The aquarium staff members say he appeared to be drunk when he didn't pay for his ticket, and scaled the waist-high wall to hop in the tank.

"The defendant did not pay entry into the aquarium and then he jumped into the fish tank which is 27 feet deep, and there are sharks in there," said Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney, Erica Brody.

Pellegrine has been charged with trespassing and disturbing the peace.

Aquarium staff says none of the animals in the tank were harmed.
