The genetically enhanced apes from the previous film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" inherit a post-apocalyptic San Francisco in "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." And Andy Serkis reprises his role as top-chimp Caesar. Just as the apes have evolved, so has the technology that depicts them.Through performance capture, we've seen Serkis transform into iconic characters like King Kong and Gollum from "The Lord of the Rings" series.

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

This is Fox 5's Friday Night Live, a weekly celebration of the end of the work week. All summer long, the Fox 5 team brings you the latest in entertainment, nightlife, food, and music in our area.

In this jam-packed episode:

Dan Bowens interviewed Romeo Santos, the self-proclaimed King of Bacahata, who sold out consecutive nights at Yankee Stadium. Santos grew up in the Bronx.

Simone Boyce has a first look at "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." She interviewed Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, and Keri Russell. Simone also tried out some of the special gear the actors used to portray the apes.

Simone and Baruch Shemtov weighed in on some of the hot topics in pop culture right now: women and red clothes, Rosie O'Donnell coming back to "The View," Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling expecting a child, and Internet memes and jokes.

And finally, Chef Sylvain Delpique and mixologist Mark Tubridy of 21 Club come to the set to talk about the restaurant and bar's revamped menus.
