'Football Moms' Perform, Raise Money For Their Local League

Posted: Updated:
Hemet, CA -

(FOX 11) Football moms usually drive vans full of kids to games, cheer them on, and feed them when they come home, hopefully after they won.

Football moms -don't- usually climb on stage in high heels and attitude and belt out "Lady Marmalade" to a screaming crowd.

But that's exactly what the moms of the Hemet Valley Chiefs Junior All-American Football League did when they traveled to the Soboba Casino in San Jacinto.

They entered a karaoke contest - won first prize - and took home 2-thousand dollars for the league!

As you can see from their amateur video, the moms won performing the song "Lady Marmalade."

The moms come to FOX 11 News to show us their performance and tell Steve Edwards about what it means for them to win this money to help their kids.

To learn more about the moms and their league, you can find them at www.leaguelineup.com/hemetvalleychiefs and friend them up on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/hemetvalley.chiefs

Everyone hates long lines at security checkpoints and the TSA knows it. Now the TSA is sponsoring a contest to encourage anyone with new ideas about how to make the airport security lines go faster. Often for air travelers, the security checkpoint experience is the worst part of their trip. That's why the TSA turned to the crowdsourcing site Innocentive asking for ideas pledging a total of $15,000 in prize money, with at least one $5,000 award.
