Domenic Priore & Christopher Merritt: Pacific Ocean Park

Posted: Updated:

Pacific Ocean Park -- or as it was commonly known in Los Angeles from the '50s through the '70s, "P.O.P." -- was extraordinary in both its glamorous rise and spectacular fall.

As a family-oriented attraction in the '50s with modernist-styled rides designed by Hollywood's best, P.O.P.'s attendance briefly surpassed that of Disneyland and it was often seen in movies and TV shows throughout the '60s.

Christopher Merritt and Domenic Priore's have written the definitive history of Pacific Ocean Park .. and they join Steve Edwards and Lisa Breckenridge on Good Day L.A.

Born and raised in Liverpool, signed by an inexperienced agent named Brian Epstein, hustled into the studio with a genius producer named George Martin...and out of that session came a hit song called "Do You Want To Know A Secret." Now here's the twist…we're not talking about The Beatles.
