Search for man suspected of 2 Redford home invasions

Posted: Updated:
REDFORD, Mich (WJBK) -- Redford police are looking for a man suspected in two separate home invasions early Friday morning, who they believe was targeting women.

The first home invasion happened around 3:20 a.m. in the 14000 block of San Jose Avenue, just north of Schoolcraft.

A woman in her 20s was asleep on the couch, when she awoke to the male suspect in her home.

Police say the suspect made sexual advances toward the woman and fled the scene when he realized she was not alone in the home.

The second home invasion happened just before 5 a.m. in the 15500 block of Lexington Street, near 5 Mile Road.

A woman in her 60s awoke to sounds outside her house.  She was near an open window and heard the suspect make a sexual remark toward her.

The male suspect reached through the window and grabbed the woman's arm before taking off.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 black male 150 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a striped polo shirt and mesh shorts.

If you have any information, contact the Redford Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
