FBI offers $5K reward for 'No Boundaries Bandit'

Posted: Updated:

The FBI is offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in at least seven bank robberies dubbed the “No Boundaries Bandit.”

The suspect began his spree on May 16 at a PNC Bank branch in southwest suburban Burbank, and is believed to have struck at least six other banks across the city and western suburbs since, according to a release from the FBI.

The “No Boundaries” nickname was chosen becasue of the wide range of locations of the banks involved in the suspect’s heists, according to the FBI.

The most recent robbery happened last week at a TCF Bank branch on the Southwest Side, according to the FBI. The suspect walked into the bank in the 5300 block of South Pulaski Road, approached an employee and made a threatening demand for money, implying he had a weapon.

The other robberies happened:

-on May 27 at the TCF Bank branch at 6315 W. 55th St.;

-on June 6 at the PNC Bank branch at 6650 W. Cermak Rd. in Berwyn;

-on June 11 at the Washignton Federal Bank at 2869 S. Archer Ave.;

-on June 19 at the Charter One branch at 4001 S. Harlem Ave.in Stickney;

-on June 24 at the Chase Bank branch at 1700 N. Wells St.

During the June 19 robbery of a Charter One branch in west suburban Stickney, the suspect showed a handgun tucked into his waistband, according to the FBI, though no injuries have been reported in any of the robberies.

The FBI describes the suspect as a 25-35 year old Hispanic man, about 5-foot-8 with a medium build and a goatee. He has covered his head during each robbery, wearing a variety of baseball caps.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the robberies should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
