YouTube Stars And Fans Meet At 5th Annual VidCon

Posted: Updated:

HOLLYWOOD, CA- Online personalities are drawing in big following and in some cases even bigger paychecks.

Some of the internet's biggest stars met their fans over the weekend at the 5th annual VidCon convention in Anaheim, California.

"We pitch it as a celebration of online video, whether you make them or you love on line video or you enable online video," said VidCon co-founder Hank Green, of the event.

Posting videos on sites like YouTube can be a full time job.

"People sell advertisement, they sell merchandise, they do their own events and concerts, a lot of them are standup comedians, so there's a lot of ways to make money. YouTube is wonderful in that if you make an online video and your stuff gets popular, they just send a check you don't even have to sign up," added Green.

With millions of new videos posted each day, the next superstar could be just a click away.

"I started being a YouTuber 7 years ago, online and it has somehow become something that I have a full time job from it," said YouTube star Tyler Oakley.
