Posted: Updated:

FRANKLIN, OH- Good Samaritans helped a cop who got pummeled by a suspect on Saturday.

Police in Franklin, Ohio, say while investigating a burglary, one officer tried questioning a suspect, who turned nasty.

The cop was punched and taken to the ground by Charles Cole.

Just when the officer gets on top of Cole to deliver a few blows of his own, two young men jump out of their cars and help put Cole in handcuffs.

Afterwards, the officer and his helpers share smiles, high-fives, and even hugs with other bystanders.

Cole is now facing several charges.

The cop was hospitalized briefly for minor injuries.
