FOX 32 News has teamed up with no-kill shelter PAWS Chicago to bring you an adoptable pet each week. This week, we're featuring a 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix named Chet.
Chet is a sweet, friendly boy who came to PAWS Chicago in May after being turned into the city pound as a stray in critical condition. Emaciated at just 23 pounds, Chet was suffering from a severe case of pneumonia. The PAWS Chicago Rescue & Recovery veterinarians acted quickly, providing round the clock medical care. He had to be put on an oxygen machine to support his breathing, and it was uncertain if he would survive.
Thankfully, Chet began gaining weight and improving little by little each day until he made a full recovery. Chet “The Miracle Dog” is now available for adoption at the Adoption Center where he spends his days playing in the pool on the rooftop deck, challenging his doggie roommate to games of tug-o-war, and taking walks with PAWS volunteers (his leash manners are awesome)! Chet is very affectionate with people and likes to put his paws on your shoulders and give you a “hug.” He is a natural when it comes to clicker training and is quite food-motivated which makes training fun and easy. This handsome guy has overcome all his challenges with such bravery. Now all he needs is a family to love. Will you give Chet a chance?
