Livonia kids set up lemonade stand along I-96 construction

Posted: Updated:
LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) -  What do you do when you live near a major road project during summer break? Well, if you are a kid, you make lemonade.

Some kids in Livonia are putting smiles on the faces of stressed-out drivers who are stuck in the stand-still traffic along the I-96 road project.

The entrepreneurs have been cashing in. They say they want to spend the money on toys and that they've been splitting the money equally.

"When we get the change we put it in the charity box over in Speedway, and then the other money we usually get what we made," one of the kids tells Fox 2's Jessica Starr.

One parent says he is usually in the backyard and a mother watches from the window, and they've made a rule for the children to stay behind a tree near the road.
