Southfield homeowner receives new window donation

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -  A Southfield woman gets some much needed improvements for her home thanks to some generous volunteers.

Sherry Keller has been confined to a wheelchair since a car accident in 2009. Mold was found growing on her windows and she had trouble breathing.

The group Rebuilding Together Oakland County called 1-800-HANSONS for help. The company donated all new energy efficient windows for Keller's home.

"I think to myself, maybe I'll inspire another business leader in town to do the same type of things and we can all come together as a community and make a difference," says 1-800-HANSONS president Brian Elias.

"It's a real blessing. I just feel like Christmas has come. Between Hansons and Rebuilding, to do something this tremendous for somebody is just great," says Keller.

Rebuilding Together Oakland County is always looking for volunteers and donations to help homeowners in need.
