13-Year-Old Teen Found with 40-Year-Old South Carolina Sex Offender

Posted: Updated:
A 13-year-old Southaven girl has been found in South Carolina with a 40-year-old registered sex offender.

Southaven Police Lt. Mark Little says that Bobby Allen Osborne of South Carolina posed as a teen online and it is believed that he drove from South Carolina to Southaven to pick the teen up, then driving her back to South Carolina.
The child's mother reported her daughter as a runaway and later found evidence of conversations that her daughter had been having via a few different "apps" on her cell phone with a male.

According to the release, investigators began to attempt to ID the suspect having the conversation with the teen. The investigation carried over through the night and with the help of the South Carolina Authorities, Verizon Wireless, the U.S. Marshalls Service, I.C.E. and several other agencies the girl was found safe in a home in South Carolina. She was taken into protective custody and the subject, whom we believe came to Southaven to pick her up and carry her back to South Carolina, was apprehended and is under arrest awaiting extradition back to Mississippi on a kidnapping warrant.
