What This Dad Did For His Sick Daughter Will Tear You Up Inside

This video was upload just after Father's Day, and already some are saying it's one of the best videos on YouTube, now going viral with close to a million views. McKenzie Carey is a 12-year-old girl with a life threatening disease called mitochondria, and there is no known cure.  She was diagnosed when she was a year and a half.

The disease damages cells of the brain, heart, liver, skeletal muscles, kidney and the endocrine and respiratory systems. The girl isn’t paralyzed, but she can’t walk and she is non-verbal with her communication with the family and others.

On a stage in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee earlier this month, she wore a purple dress with a pink skirt with white shoes and danced during a pageant with her father to Miley Cyrus' song, "The Climb."

The family is on a fundraising mission to raise the funds for these treatments. On the YouTube page, they mention these two websites:

A state agency is suggesting summer shutdowns at the Indian Point nuclear power plant in the New York suburbs. The idea is to protect migrating and spawning fish who might otherwise get sucked into the plant. Indian Point takes 2.5 billion gallons a day from the Hudson River to make steam and cool its two reactors.
