VIDEO: Police seek five suspects in Saks Fifth Avenue robbery

Posted: Updated:
TROY, Mich (WJBK) -- Police are asking for the public assistance to identify five suspects in a smash and grab of a Cartier watch display at Saks Fifth Avenue on Friday, June 13.

The theft happened just before 6 p.m. at the department store, which anchors the south side of The Somerset Collection in Troy.

Sales staff observed four black males, approximately 22-year-old in the store.  Two of the males approached the Cartier watch display looking at watches.

One of the suspects pulled a small sledge hammer from under a gray hooded sweatshirt and smashed the top of the display case.  He is described as a black male, 6-foot-4 and approximately 300 pounds.

A second suspect reached in and took out seven Cartier watches.  He is described as a black male, 5-foot-5 and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Both suspects fled the store and the other two suspects followed.  One watch was dropped on their way out of the store's west exit.

All suspects entered an older gray Ford Taurus, driven by an unidentified black female.  The vehicle then drove out of the lot.

If you have any information on this crime, contact Troy police at (248) 524-0777.

You've got a few more weeks to enjoy SummerStage, New York's annual performing arts showcase that's 28 years running. But it's not just music: there is dance, comedy, theater, you name it. There are several shows weekly at 14 different parks throughout the five boroughs. A recent show at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park paid tribute to Pete Seeger. Most of the shows are free and are funded by tickets purchased for the some of the bigger acts.
