Georgia to receive $2.8 million in housing funds

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - A Georgia congressman says the state is receiving $2.8 million in affordable housing funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.

In a statement, Democratic Rep. David Scott said the money will help create or rehabilitate seven affordable housing projects throughout the state.

Scott says the Waverly Terrace Senior Apartments in Columbus, the Middle Georgia Center in Dublin and the Bethel Housing Preservation project in Albany are among the seven developments that will benefit from the funding.

Scott says additional developments in Lawrenceville, Atlanta and Griffin are also receiving a portion of the funding. Recipients are slated to receive between $100,000 and $500,000 each.

Scott of district 13 represents several parts of the metro Atlanta region in Cobb, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, and Henry counties.
