Charlotte's Web: Teaching Boys How To Be Men

Posted: Updated:

A small church right off of West Sugar Creek Road has a remarkable story of turning boys into men. God’s Healing Hands Ministry had a Father’s Day event where community members came out to hear a message of what it means to be a father – to nurture, care, love, and provide for your family.

Darrell Anderson, the senior pastor of the church, says he didn’t have a father growing up, but his community embraced him and provided him the mentorship he needed to become the man he is today.

The purpose of today’s service inside God’s Healing Hands Ministry is to know the difference between bringing a child into this world and being there for him.

Reginald Alston attended the service, taking in all the advice. He’s just weeks away from becoming a father for the first time.

“Anybody can make a baby and be called a father. But to being in that child’s life every day, seven days a week 24 hours, letting him know right from wrong, that’s a dad,” he said.

It’s a community stepping up to the plate, teaching boys how to be men. For pictures from the service, visit my Facebook fan page Neima Abdulahi FOX46.
