Police warn of attempted child abduction in Chicago Lawn

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Police are searching for a man who reportedly tried to abduct a girl from the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

The incident occurred on Friday, June 6 at 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of 69th Street and California.

According to a release from the Chicago Police Department, the man offered a girl a ride to school. When she said no, he said he would wait for her after school.

Police officials say the man left when the girl approached another adult and said she was being followed.

The suspect is described as a hispanic man between 45 and 50 years old wearing a white baseball cap, white tee shirt and khaki pants. Officials say the man has acne on his face and no facial hair.
