TAMPA (FOX 13) -

The greeting card section at your local grocer, convenience store or pharmacy is stocked with Father’s Day cards, and probably packed with shoppers in search of just the right words to say.

Some cards are funny; others are from the heart, and a few…are for single moms.

Customers have raised a question on whether or not there should be a sentiment for single women who serve as both a mother, and a father for the families.

Hallmark specifically addressed the issue after supplying a single-mother specific card back in 2011.

Their full response is as follows:

"At Hallmark, we appreciate consumers' comments, questions and discussions regarding our various products. In 2011 we noticed some online conversation about Father's Day cards for mothers in our Mahogany line. Some of these reports included inaccuracies, and we wanted to take a moment to provide some clarification.

For years, consumers have expressed a desire for cards that specifically acknowledge the role of a single mother on Father's Day. In response, Hallmark has offered choices specific to this situation for the past several years. These cards are available in both our general line and Mahogany line.

In 2011, the Father's Day collection in the Mahogany line included two "To Mom on Father's Day" cards. Hallmark's general Father's Day card line also included a "To Mother on Father's Day" card. Both lines also include a variety of cards to acknowledge fathers and those who have played a father-like role in an individual's life.

Hallmark also offers Mother's Day cards for dads, for consumers who want to acknowledge the role a single father has played in a child's life."

But, if you can believe it, there's something else this 4-year-old is even more excited about: Times Square is going gold. The chairman of the Times Square Advertising Coalition announced the crossroads of the world is going to light up in gold to raise awareness for pediatric cancer research.
