Weekend Roundup: Maria Menounos, Los Lobos & Santa Monica Festival

Posted: Updated: Jun 12, 2014 11:04 AM

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

MARIA MENOUNOS

Being healthy is more important than being thin. Aim to eat whole foods 75 percent of the time. Forget long, complicated exercise routines. You can do simple exercises using things you have around the house, like chairs and rugs. This is just some of the advice you'll find in Maria Menounos's new book (and New York Times bestseller) "The Every Girl's Guide to Diet & Fitness." The TV host, journalist and author is here to show us how easy (and fun!) it can be to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle.

LOS LOBOS

Three-time Grammy winners Los Lobos are here to rock the Fox lot before their headlining performance at the Sixth Annual Roadshow Revival Tribute to the Music of Johnny Cash. Going on Saturday, June 14, at the beachfront Ventura County Fairgrounds, the daylong event is one of the largest tribute concerts on the West Coast Along with the legendary Los Lobos, there will also be other live bands, a Johnny Cash Memorabilia Gallery, Pin-Up Girl Pageant, custom cars and bikes, beer, food, drinks, Kid's Corral, and tons of vendors with unique offerings for everyone. For more info, visit: www.roadshowrevival.com

SANTA MONICA FESTIVAL

Join me on Saturday June 14 at the Santa Monica Festival -- I'll be at the Juneteenth Stage at noon!!! This fun, FREE eco-friendly festival will have tons of entertainment with live bands, roaming performers, dance, art workshops, cooking demos, fitness classes, food trucks and a pop-up playground for the kids. See you there!
