Cow has identity crisis

Posted: Updated:

A cow thinks she’s a canine.

That’s the case in Sacramento where Milkshake the Cow resides.

Six years ago, she was rescued from an abusive owner by the Grace Foundation, which provides rehabilitation for abused animals. Since then, Milkshake has not only taken to hanging around with dogs--she is often eating out a bowl with other pups instead of grazing for grass.

According to rancher Beth Decaprio, it all stems from the fact that she was never exposed to other cows.

Not only does the half-ton bovine enjoying hanging with pooches--she’s even tried getting into the backseat of Beth’s car.

“She hangs out with the dogs,” said Beth. “So I think she just assumes that is what she is more than a cow. She was never around another cow.”

Beth says Milkshake still suffers from separation anxiety when she leaves the ranch.
