DETROIT (WJBK) - A woman was found dead in a home on Detroit's west side. Police have not released the identity of the woman.

Meanwhile, they have been investigating and searching for a missing family.

That family is 27-year-old Alicia Fox, her children, 6-year-old Kaylah Hunter, 9-month-old Kristian Justice and Alicia Fox's husband 28-year-old Erin Justice.

Family members have been scouring this neighborhood, putting up flyers and searching abandoned homes for this family. Today, they received a phone call that lead them to a home on Penrod Street.

The uncle of Alicia Fox believes the person he found inside the basement is his niece.

"We are currently looking for two children, one by the name of Kaylah Hunter. She's a black female 6 years old and the other .. his name is Kristian Justice. He's a 9-month-old baby. We're also trying to locate the father of one of the children. His name is Erin Justice. He's a black male, 28 years old," says Detroit Police Capt. Harold Rochon.

"If her husband is spotted pulling up from an abandoned in a U-Haul truck going in with hammers and tools, and then a couple of days later, whatever, her body's down there. We're not rocket scientists standing here but we're not idiots also. One thing's for sure, and I know this and God knows this, that she didn't sit down in that, whatever it is, and chop her own body up," says Michael Fields. "To sit there and to run away when people are looking for your family lets me know that you are one thing - you're a coward. And you're going to be a coward for the rest of your life. And you don't have to answer to anyone but God, and he's going to get you brother, believe that."

Police are not confirming the identity of the young woman that was found.

UPDATE: Authorities have confirmed the identity of the woman is Alicia Fox.
