Chicago Bears help with Washington tornado cleanup

WASHINGTON, Ill. (Associated Press) -

Dozens of Chicago Bears players and team officials have traveled to Washington in central Illinois to help with cleanup from last November's tornadoes.

During Friday's visit, Bears owner Brian McCaskey made good on a promise to one resident whose story of a lost piano touched him.

Cheryl Ingham lost her home in the Nov. 17 storm and along with it a beloved piano that had belonged to her mother. He gave her one.

With tears in her eyes, Ingham said Friday she was overwhelmed by the gift.

During the visit, officials at a downtown square also raised a U.S. flag that had flown at Soldier Field.
