76ers Reveal Plans For Camden Waterfront Facility

CAMDEN, N.J. -

The Sixers reveal plans to build a new headquarters and training facility in Camden, New Jersey.

The familiar Camden waterfront landscape will see a big change, now that the Philadelphia 76ers organization has confirmed a move to bring it's training operations across the Delaware River, by building a 100-thousand square foot state of the art facility near the aquarium.

"It was good for the city, good for the region you know? Camden and Philadelphia still part of the same area, the Delaware Valley so it's good overall," says Camden resident Juan Gonzalez.

Gonzales says it's yet another win for his hometown, which already has many attractions including the Battleship New Jersey, The Susquehanna Bank Center, a Rutgers campus, and many apartments and condos.

The 76er's CEO says they have filed an application to start the process.

They're waiting on a vote on tax credits by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority….

Philadelphia's Mayor says money talks with the state of New Jersey making the team an offer it couldn't refuse.

"If you have tens of millions of dollars that are being thrown at you it just entices you to do something. I mean that's a business decision that someone has to make," said Mayor Nutter.
