Movie Critic Matt Atchity: One Of Tom Cruise's Better Movies

Posted: Updated:

If you're looking for a good movie, Matt Atchity says you can't go wrong with two big new releases this weekend. One is a futuristic action packed thriller, the other is a quiet drama about teens in love and cancer. Both are certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.com.

Matt says "Edge of Tomorrow" delivers, whether you like Tom Cruise or not.

"Tom Cruise is very good, he's very well cast here..this is one of his better movies in a long time...(Emily Blunt) is really cool in this...the movie has fun with the concept of what it's doing like Groundhog Day does...I loved this movie."

"The Fault in Our Stars" is based on the best selling young adult novel and Matt says unlike a lot of these movie adaptations, "Fault" gets it right (even though he CLAIMS he didn't cry).

"I really liked this movie. This movie moves really well. The characters are smart. The dialogue runs right up against the level where you wouldn't believe teenagers talk this way...but they sell it."

Matt also talks about a new "found footage" thriller about Bigfoot that's also getting great reviews, which is rare for a horror movie.

Matt Atchity is the editor in chief for the pop-culture website "Rotten Tomatoes." He also hosts a new show on Sirius XM called "Rotten Tomatoes Radio."

The weekly one hour call in show airs Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

‘Rotten Tomatoes TV Zone' is up now on the Rotten Tomatoes website.
