Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino to appear at grand opening of Boca Tanning Club in Manalapan

Reality television star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino will appear on Saturday, June 21 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the grand opening of his upscale, state-of-the-art tanning salon, Boca Tanning Club, located at 357 Route 9 South in the Towne Pointe Center, Manalapan. Sorrentino will be at the salon to meet and greet fans and to help introduce the community to cutting-edge technology and the latest concepts in UV and sunless tanning. Autographed photos will be available to fans. Additional festivities include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with elected officials and dignitaries from throughout the region at 1 p.m. and special promotions throughout the day for new customers.

Sorrentino, who starred in all six seasons of hit MTV reality series "Jersey Shore," also owns and operates a Boca Tanning Club in Middletown, N.J. with his brothers and sisters, who manage the day-to-day operations. He has plans to open another location in Freehold Township.

The entire family - Mike, brothers Marc and Frank, sister Melissa and mother Linda - currently star in a new reality television series called "The Sorrentino's." The first episode is scheduled to air early summer.

    One of the tubes of the Lincoln Tunnel was closed for nearly four hours after a chain-reaction accident involving a New York-bound jitney bus and two other vehicles. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Steve Coleman says three people were reported injured in the accident in the center tube at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

    Revel Casino Hotel closed its doors Tuesday morning, a little more than two years after opening with high hopes of turning around Atlantic City's struggling casino market. The 5:25 a.m. casino shutdown followed the closure of its hotel on Monday. By mid-September, four of Atlantic City's 12 casinos will have closed, but none will be a costlier failure than Revel.
