Problem Solvers get results for elderly woman's ruined lawn

Posted: Updated:
OAK PARK, Mich. (WJBK) - An elderly woman says the lawn company she has used for years ruined her front yard.

Maxine Gutfrieund, 78, lives in Oak Park and has trusted Turf Tenders to take care of her lawn for seven years.

Neighbors say her lawn used to be the envy of the block, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Gutfrieund says her lawn suddenly took a turn for the worse this year. She says she was complaining to the company for months but they kept telling her they were waiting to hear from their insurance company.

The FOX 2 Problem Solvers went to work and got in contact with employees at Turf Tenders. We were told the lawn was planned to be replaced on Friday.

The Director of Marketing, Daniel Dinkins, spoke with FOX 2's Andrea Isom. He says, "Something tragic happened. We dont know. We've been working for months trying to get this resolved. ... We're going to top dress and oversee the backyard, rip out the front yard. If the sod is available to us at the time that we are there we will resod the yard."

He continued to say they have been in business for 35 years and value every customer.

Gutfrieund says she would have confidence in the company again.
