ATLANTA - Great news for Georgia Tech Football as one of their all-time greats was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Former Yellow Jacket Quarterback, Joe Hamilton, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame later this year.

Hamilton joins 13 other former All-Americans and two head coaches into the class of 2014.

“I am humbled and honored to be selected in this class, along with some of the greatest players in college football history,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton played for the Yellow jackets from 1996 to 1999 and was runner up to the 1999 Heisman Trophy.

Hamilton is the 13th player in Georgia Tech history and the 18th person overall associated with Yellow Jacket football to be elected into the Hall of Fame.

“I want to thank God,” said Hamilton. “I am grateful that I was surrounded by really talented teammates and great coaches. I also want to thank all of the Georgia Tech family.”

The official induction ceremony takes place in December at the NFF Annual Awards Dinner in New York.
