NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Two pre-teens are accused of trying to poison their teacher.

The NYPD says a nine-year-old and a 12-year-old were arrested Tuesday in connection with the incident at a Brooklyn school.

The children are accused of putting something poisonous, possibly rat poison, into their teacher's water bottle.

The teacher became nauseous and went to the doctor. She is now OK, according to police.

Police say the bottle is being tested to see what exactly caused the teacher to become sick.

The children face reckless endangerment, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon charges. Police are not releasing and names of the children because of their ages.

The incident allegedly took place at PS 315 in Flatbush on Monday.

A similar incident took place earlier this month in England when two 10-year-olds poured a deadly bleach-like liquid into their teacher's coffee cup.
