Bloomberg busier than ever

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been out of office for over four months and he says he's busier and working harder than before.

While most would expect a 72-year-old billionaire to move comfortably into retirement, that's simply not the plan.

"I spend a lot of time at my company (business data and media giant Bloomberg L.P.); it’s four times the size of what it was when I left and I’m spending a lot of time with my philanthropies," said Bloomberg.

Talk of running for elected office, again, is simply that, talk. He's most certainly not interested in running for President either.

"This is a system designed for two parties. Party loyalty is everything for a lot of people. There is no room for a third party candidate. Mayors are held accountable unlike legislators. We have to take positions on things like choice and gay marriage," said the Independence party member.

As for talking about politics as it directly relates to his successor, Mayor Bill de Blasio, the topic is off limits.

"Rudy Giuliani never criticized me and he didn’t let his staff criticize me. I’ve said I’ll give my successor the same gift that I will not talk about things in the city," said Bloomberg who was heavily criticized during de Blasio's inauguration ceremony.

"All you have to do is look at the city: we have record life expectancy, we have record test scores in the schools, low crime, we have record number of people living here and working here and that sort of thing…the facts speak for themselves," added Bloomberg.

Motorcycle jackets, black boots, knit tops, it's all in for fall 2014. Joe Zee, Editor-In-Chief, Yahoo! Style, says faux leather, tie-neck dresses and pea coats are also hot commodities as the weather beings to cool down. Zee, the former creative director for Elle magazine, is launching a new women's collection for QVC just in time for the wardrobe change. He previewed the line during Good Day NY.

At least a dozen scathing reviews were printed about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s new book on a preservative used in vaccines before it was released. It's not fair, says Kennedy Jr., and he explained why during Good Day New York. "They attacked me for what they believed was going to be in the book which was a discussion about autism and that is not in the book," said Kennedy Jr.
