CAMDEN, N.J. -

Major layoffs are coming to the Camden City School District.

Superintendent Paymon Rouhanifard says the district needs to lay off 241 employees.

That includes 206 teaching positions that are being eliminated.

Rouhanifard's proposed budget calls for nearly 600 positions to be eliminated.

The district is struggling to fill a $42-million budget shortfall.
