ATLANTA, Ga. -

A woman tells FOX 5 it's a miracle she's alive after surviving a serious crash last Wednesday.

Claire Winder, 22, was driving north on Interstate 85 near Hamilton Mill Road when a piece of tire came at her. Accounts say the car in front of her slammed on its brakes and Winder swerved out of the way to avoid an accident, only to end up pinned under an 18-wheeler.

Winder says she was dragged for about a minute before being able to crawl out of the driver's side.

Her mouth was full of glass after the incident, but she didn't have any serious cuts or bruises.

Winder was examined on the scene, but she did not go to the hospital.

Experts say when her car got under the big rig, it cut the pressure line to the trucks brakes allowing it to stop quicker than it normally would. Winder says she is grateful to be alive.
