Health Insurance Rate Regulation In California

Posted: Updated:

Today's program is a continuation of a discussion about health insurance rate regulation in California. The November, 2014 ballot will include a measure similar to Proposition 103 which was on the November, 1988 ballot. At that timer, voters approved the initiative which required auto and home insurance companies to submit rate increases to California's Insurance Commissioner for approval. This year's initiative would apply the same process to health insurance companies.

Today's guest is Dario Frommer, a former member of the California State Assembly and the former Speaker of the Assembly. Mr. Frommer represents the opposition to health insurance rate regulation. Information is available at www.stophighercosts.com and 866-676-8156.

This year's initiative, like Proposition 103, is the work of ConsumerWatchdog.org. The organization's telephone is 310-392-0522.
