Conshohocken,Pa.- A local dance teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.

Fox 29's Dave Schratwieser reports.

Police say they have arrested Francis "Frank" Laurenzi, 28, on charges of Statutory Rape, Corruption of Minors, Indecent Assault less than 16, Possession of Child Pornography and Manufacturing Child Pornography.

According to investiagtors, Laurenzi taught Dance at "Urban Elegance Dance Club", located at 110 Fayette Street, Conshohocken and "LeRoux School of Dance", located at 301 North Lewis Road, Limerick Township. Laurenzi has taught dance for the past 14 years.

Police say the relationship started when the student was 10 at a dance studio in Limerick, and the alleged conduct occurred from 2012 until 2014.

His friends and fellow businesses owners are shocked and disgusted.

“That's sad that you find out a dance studio which should be a safe place for kids. Obviously, it's not,” said Karen Sajda, owner of Style of Main.

Laurenzi actually trained to become a Whitemarsh police officer years ago, then started teaching dance at a studio in Limerick where he met the victim. He recently opened his own second floor studio on Fayette Street. It was there, police say, he had 20 sexual encounters with his underage student.

“We never saw anything, and it was really a shock to us,” said Sanaa Oudda.

Parents at Leroux School of Dance in Limerick, didn't remember Laurenzi, but complimented the studio.

Police say Laurenzi started texting the girl saying, "I felt an attraction between us. Are we going to do something about it." From there, it was on to kissing, oral sex and then intercourse at the Urban Elegance Dance Studio. Police say he even told the teenager he was afraid of getting caught.

According to authorities,  Laurenzi convinced the girl to take 25 naked photos of herself and send them to him via email. He stored the pictures on a hard drive and sent one of them to a friend. He now faces child pornography charges.

Laurenzi is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.
