(WJBK) - Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads authorities to a purse snatcher in the area of Grosse Pointe Park and Detroit.

Easter Sunday evening, the suspect attempted to steal the handbags of two women in separate incidents. He successfully made off with one of the handbags.

In the first incident, he approached a woman leaving the Ye Old Tap Room on Charlevoix Street, near Alter Road, while she was getting into her vehicle. He grabbed her purse and the two are said to have struggled briefly before the strap broke. The suspect ran off without the purse.

In the second incident, the suspect walked through the open doors of Excalibur Park, a bar down the street. He grabbed a woman's purse sitting near her and bolted out the door.

Authorities have surveillance photos and videos of him, and are hoping the public can help turn him in.
