Sammy Sosa snubbed as Cubs celebrate 100th anniversary of Wrigley

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Cubs celebrated Wrigley Field's 100th birthday on Wednesday and they did it without one of the most popular players in the ballpark's history.

Ernie Banks and Andre Dawson were there, but Sammy Sosa wasn’t. In fact, he wasn’t invited.

Even though he hit almost 300 homers at Wrigley, Sosa's reputation was tarnished by the steroid scandal. So, Wrigley's second century started without him.
