DETROIT (WJBK) - Detroit police have a person in custody after a mother was found dead inside her Detroit home earlier this week. The woman's 8-month-old daughter was also found nearby, unattended in her crib.

FOX 2 has learned police have Charmanek Johnson's ex-boyfriend in custody. He was arrested Tuesday night in an abandoned home on the city's west side.

His name has not been released. He is expected to be arraigned later this week.

Police say tips helped their investigation. The suspect was seen loading appliances from the scene of the crime into a truck shortly after the murder.

FOX 2's Taryn Asher reports the 31-year-old was found with at least 50 stab wounds.

Her daughter had been taken to the hospital, where she was in critical condition due to dehydration. Lazaria had been left alone for at least three days.

She has been released from the hospital and is doing well, except her skin is still raw and swollen from where her dirty diaper had become stuck to her body.

Donations for basic necessities for Lazaria can be made at any Charter One Bank, where the family has set up a fund.
