Dispute over restaurant's hamburger spills over to social media

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - It started with a hamburger that was overcooked and when Monique Shaldjian's husband pointed it out to the staff at The Attic restaurant near 42nd Street and Indian School Road, the server wound up getting angry.

"But she just kept on being defensive, thinking we were accusing her of not putting correctly on the ticket," said Monique.

Not long after that, Monique saw a Facebook post she believes came from a manager at The Attic, featuring her photo from Facebook superimposed on top of a T-shirt -- calling her an offensive name and saying she was "86'd" -- not welcome back at the restaurant.

"The bottom line is he is publicly declaring almost hatred for me and I would really like an apology.. a public apology," said Monique.

She took to social media and very quickly racked up over 1,500 views.

We spoke to the owners of The Attic Monday afternoon and they apologized publicly.

Monique says she is still hoping for a direct apology from The Attic restaurant.

Everyone hates long lines at security checkpoints and the TSA knows it. Now the TSA is sponsoring a contest to encourage anyone with new ideas about how to make the airport security lines go faster. Often for air travelers, the security checkpoint experience is the worst part of their trip. That's why the TSA turned to the crowdsourcing site Innocentive asking for ideas pledging a total of $15,000 in prize money, with at least one $5,000 award.
