VIDEO: Woman steals donation jar for cancer patient

Posted: Updated:
YPSILANTI, Mich. (WJBK) - Surveillance video at Great Lakes Vapes shows a woman swiping a donation jar off a counter and put it in her purse.

The donation jar was for Zac Lovelace, an 18-year-old who has been diagnosed with cancer.

FOX 2's Andrea Isom reports about 40 or 50 dollars was inside the jar.

Kristy Baptist, Zac's cousin, says when his mother heard the jar had been stolen, she said, "Well, I really hope they needed it more than we did."

An employee from a neighboring business, Alez Market, gave Zac and his mom $100 to start a new donation jar.

If you are interested in making a donation to Zac and his mother, you can find more information on the Team Zac Facebook Page.

If you know anything about the suspect in the video contact Ypsilanti police.
