HINSDALE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 25-year-old caregiver is accused of stealing more than $10,000 from the elderly west suburban resident who employed her, Pioneer Press is reporting.

On April 9, Lenise K. English of 403 E. Indian Trail in Aurora was charged with financial exploitation of the elderly and aggravated identity theft.

English allegedly used a Hinsdale resident's credit card to buy household goods, clothing and other items, totaling more than $10,000, between June 1 and Oct. 1, 2013. The crime was reported to the police Dec. 21, 2013.

Following a lengthy investigation, a felony arrest warrant was issued for English, Deputy Police Chief Mark Wodka said.

She turned herself in at the Hinsdale Police Station on April 9 and was released after posting 10 percent of a $75,000 bond.
