A Detroit startup company offers consumers a unique way to save money.

BoostUp.com is a social savings website where users create an account to save for big purchases. The niche is friends, family and even big-name companies, can deposit money into the account to help users reach their savings goals faster.

Hyundai, Quicken Loans and Penske are all rewarding users by offering free money matches or incentives to double their savings.

BoostUp was founded in Chicago and recently awarded $1 million in funding from Detroit Venture Partners.
