A teenage girl, with too much time on her hand, takes a knack at being famous.

And she got her wish because we're talking about her.

A twitter user, named "Sarah", decided it would be a good idea to send a threatening tweet to "American Airlines" yesterday morning.

She wrote: "Hello my name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye."

American Airlines didn't think it was funny.

They tweeted back, "Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI."

American Airlines took the tweet down, but not before Sarah, who claims she's only 14 years old, tweeted up a storm of pleas for forgiveness , including,

"I'm so sorry. I'm scared now".

"I was joking and it was my friend not me, take her IP address not mine".

But then, she seemed to enjoy the attention, tweeting, "over 20,000  followers - yay!"
