NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Former NY Knicks players John Starks and Anthony Mason have teamed up again. This time, they’re investors of a pizzeria in Harlem.

"Whether it’s basketball, whether it’s business, whether it’s cars, I think we’re going to be competitive. We’re going to apply ourselves and put in the effort. That’s the only way we know how to do it,” said Mason.

At Custom Fuel Pizza you choose your fresh ingredients and your pizza is ready in about two minutes.

"I’ve seen Harlem go through the ups and downs. There was a time you could do a celebrity show here and nobody was coming through this block. But it’s built up now. It’s safer. It’s going through a boom. This is the perfect time,” said Mason.

Harlem has seen a new renaissance with people looking for more affordable housing in New York City. More condos and co-ops are being built.

“The market is ripe for it,” said Starks.

Custom Fuel Pizza is located at 123rd St. and Frederick Douglas Blvd.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.

Heavy thunderstorms swept through the tri-state on Sunday causing flash floods and lightning strikes that injured 3 people. The three men were struck at Orchard Beach in the Bronx Sunday afternoon and were being treated at a local hospital. Meanwhile, various Labor Day weekend celebrations were interrupted, delayed and even canceled as the U.S. Open tennis tournament had to be postponed and the Electric Zoo musical festival on Randall's Island had to be prematurely shut down.
