Laura's Likes: Spring Fashion

Posted: Updated:

Spring is in the air, so it’s probably time to add a little pizzazz to your wardrobe. We all need a little fashion pick-me-up every once in a while and spring is a good time to do that. So I’ve found some products that I like to get us refreshed.

KCUFFS

I'll start with these brilliant little game changers. These are called KCUFFS. They are removable, elastic cuffs that add instant fashion and fun.

We are transitioning to spring, but there is still a chill in the air, which may warrant long sleeves some days. KCUFFS bring some sparkle to even a plain old long sleeve t-shirt. They instantly transform sweaters, dresses, some jackets -- dressing them up -- adding a little interest.

You could even use KCUFFS to turn a daytime outfit into a night look. They are great for travel too.

Kathy Kramer, the creator of Invisibelt, came up with the idea for KCUFFS. When she had her grandmother’s fur coat revamped, the furrier made cuffs out of the extra material. That got her thinking about making other cuffs. So she got to work.

She now has five different styles with more on the way.

They are $22 a pair. You can find KCUFFS on invisibelt.com and amazon.com also sells them.

Skinny Shirt

Many of us like the clean look of a crisp collar under a favorite sweater or dress. But sometimes the look doesn't come out so clean when you have the bulk. Here is a perfect solution. It’s called the Skinny Shirt.

Julie, a mom of four, says she had a eureka moment thinking that if she replaced the body of the button down shirt with something less bulky, it would be more comfortable and provide a cleaner look.

She asked her tailor to combine her favorite collared shirt with her favorite stretchy camisole -- and the Skinny Shirt was born.

It’s comfortable to wear and provides a nice smooth look. You can wear it with most sweaters, dresses and short sleeve tops. You can even wear it alone -- a great layering piece.

They are $68 on skinnyshirt.com. They have various styles and colors.

Lookie Lous

Here is a great idea for those of us who need a little help in the eye department. Lookie Lous are a brilliant invention that makes wearing readers easy.

When you push them back on your head, they become a headband. There are no hinges to pull your hair out and no need for a leash for your glasses. These comfortably hang around your neck.

I think where I would use these is on the beach or poolside when I'm reading.

Lookie Lous are great on the go and perfect for when you are outside doing gardening. They won't fall off your head. I'm told they are UV rated and coated for scratch resistance. They come in different strengths.

Kelly stumbled upon the idea one day when she kept touching her hair band thinking it was a pair of glasses. The idea hit her: why not put readers in a hair band?

By the way, there are some for guys too -- although the guys will probably wear them around their neck when not on their face.

No need to hang them from your shirt. They are convenient and look cool.

They come in five different colors. $40 per pair on lookielous.com.
