Four months ago today Silas Huffman received his new heart! What an incredible, powerful day at Children's Healthcare of

Right now Silas is enjoying a little beach time in Florida with his sisters. It's rained every day so far, so - sadly - no excellent photos of Silas poolside in his sunglasses and hat.

Life post-transplant has been challenging, with a lot of good days and some really hard ones. Overall, Silas continues to do well. He recently had a checkup and his heart looks good. His white blood cell count remains very low, so even minor viruses and infections can be very serious for him. He's still needs a feeding tube until he catches up on his eating. Some days his mother Amanda says he eats well, but on other days he has no interested.

Still, each day he grows stronger. And each day we remember the family whose incredible gift gave Silas this chance.
