Malibu, CA -

The seized panga boat was found on shore, loaded with numerous bundles of marijuana. The exact weight is still unknown, but based upon the visuals, investigators estimate the load is in excess of one ton.

The vessel, approximately 30 inches in length, was discovered just on the LA side of the LA/Ventura County line near Malibu at around 8a.m. this morning.

Local authorities detained one person at the scene...and the search is continuing for possible additional suspects.

Investigators from the multi-agency, HSI-led Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) are also investigating at the scene.
