FERNDALE, Mich. (WJBK) - Ferndale Police are searching for a gunman they say attempted to rob a doctor's office on March 24, 2014. Ray Lynn Slayton was identified as the suspect after surveillance pictures were broadcast. Slayton is 47 years old and considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a white male who is 5'-11" tall with brown hair and hazel eyes. He's been in prison multiple times for bank robberies, escape attempts, and other crimes.

Police say a white man entered the doctor's office at 808 Livernois Avenue on March 24th. He asked if the office was open and left after finding out they were closed. A short time later Slayton entered with a mask over his face and gun demanding money from the receptionist. When she said she had no money, Slayton went to the exam room and pointed a pistol at a doctor's head demanding money. The doctor told Slayton there's no money in the office and he left with only a prescription pad.

Slayton is believed to be in the areas of Hazel Park, Warren, and Detroit near Dequindre. Anyone with information should immediately call Ferndale Police at 248-546-2396 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

Most of the shows are free and are funded by tickets purchased for the some of the bigger acts.
