Police warn of East Garfield Park burglaries

Police are warning residents about a pair of recent burglaries in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

In the reported incidents, a suspect has entered homes by breaking windows before taking or trying to take property from inside, according to a community alert from police News Affairs.

Both burglaries occurred March 28 during overnight hours in the 2700 block of West Warren Boulevard and during the afternoon in the 2800 block of West Warren, police said.

The suspect is described as a 35 to 45-year-old white or Hispanic man, standing between 5 feet and 5-foot-5 and weighing 175 to 195 pounds, police said.
